Darius Battiwalla has been Leeds City Organist since 2017, directing the acclaimed Town Hall recital series and overseeing the renewal of the Leeds Town Hall organ. He has performed at major UK cathedrals, with Collegium Vocale Gent, and at the Royal College of Organists’ annual diploma recital.

A versatile musician, Darius appears as soloist and orchestral organist with the Halle and London Philharmonic, and regularly performs chamber music and harpsichord concertos. His 2024 highlights include premiering James Wood’s four-organ work commemorating the Great Storm of 1674 and releasing a CD on Base2 Music featuring Whitlock, Sowande, and Grainger. Darius also teaches improvisation at the Royal Academy of Music and the RCO summer course.

The concert will include the following –

- Mendelssohn: Sonata 1 in F minor
- Saint-Saëns: Fantaisie in E flat
- Fela Sowande: Go down, Moses
- Lemare: Rondo Capriccio
- Lemare: Carmen Fantasy
