Moot Hall

The Colchester Moot Hall is the grand assembly room located within the larger Colchester Town Hall building on the High Street. The hall has recently undergone a major ceiling restoration and is now available for public viewing and events.

The organ fell into disrepair by the early 2000s, but a significant campaign, backed by a large Heritage Lottery Fund grant led to its full restoration in 2015 by experts Harrison & Harrison. It is now celebrated as a fully restored and unique example of its kind, sounding as it did when first built.
