Blues with attitude - free gig
FREE ENTRY
Doors open 7pm for “Electric blues with a legacy vibe featuring the songs of Fleetwood Mac, Taj Mahal, Cream, The Doors, Van Morrison, Stray Cats and many more”.
Get ready for an evening of authentic blues performed by three experienced musicians who have spent decades sharing their passion for live music. Drawing on a lifetime of performances, they bring energy, humour and a genuine love of the blues to every show.
Their set celebrates the rich history of the genre, from legends such as B.B. King through to modern blues. Whether you enjoy classic blues or its contemporary sound, there's something for everyone.
In their own words:
“The three of us were there in the 70’s (not that we remember it). Andy the lefty strat player (who still thinks he looks like Richard Geer BTW) was hot on the London scene; Pete the hat drummed on tours with people you’ve heard of and is well known around the Essex circuit and Murray who playing bass (and trumpet!) round Birmingham in all manner of different bands with all sorts of people… And here we still are living a musical life where 70 has a whole different meaning. We are still rocking, still loving the blues and are still determined to give them to you too”.
“Whilst we worship at the altar of those that have gone on to the big open mike in the sky (and are probably still plagued by broken strings and wannabe’s -but clearly never were floor singers), we also play contemporary Blues from the likes of Christine Kingfish Ingram, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Jo Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepard, and Guitar Shorty. So, if you like both kinds of blues and you want to hear genuine ‘been there done it’ old gits playing like this is all going to finish tomorrow then you are going to love us”.
All welcome to great FREE gig! Doors open 7.00pm for 7.30pm start. Refreshments available.
The 54 bus stops (by request) right outside the Church, and Hythe railway station is just 5 minutes walk away.
