Pennines + Victor Villarreal + Reno Dakota

Norwich Arts Centre, 19 Mar 2026

PENNINES are four fully grown musical friends from Norwich. They carved themselves a unique and toneful space in the small UK emo/math rock scene circa 2006 to 2009. They’ve started playing and recording music together again recently and have been persuaded back on stage for a few shows in 2026, having had their song Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Lima Oscar Lima! (“dark walk home on your own”) go absolutely mega-viral on the TikTok. This will be their first official home show in over 16 years.

For those in the know, VICTOR VILLEREAL needs no introduction as he is undoubtedly one of the most influential guitarists of the indie music world in the last 30 years. His teenage band Cap’n Jazz are heralded as the godfathers of 90’s Emo, with his distinctive intricate finger-picking technique irrevocably changing the Chicago underground scene. Victor’s other seminal projects include Ghosts and Vodka, Owls and Joan of Arc. Victor is returning to his solo project having spent a few years away touring the globe with Cap’n Jazz.

Norwich emo charmers RENO DAKOTA haven’t been all that active of late, finding themselves preoccupied with their multiple other brilliant projects (Other Half, Hello Pedro, Slowly). They returned to us briefly in 2024 to record and release the amazing single Stutter / Grins (go listen on the streaming platforms – ruddy wonderful). We’re very lucky that they’ve agreed to return again and join this special night. For fans of Braid, Snowing, Algernon Cadwallader and Chris Sellers
