This is a free event to celebrate this original album. There will be opportunities to buy the album on CD or vinyl on the day and Mad Dan will be performing some original tracks for your listening pleasure.

About us, Mad Dan, the band you’ve never heard of…

Back in the 1970s, cousins Chris French and Steve Wells formed a band with Steve’s brother and two others. Writing and performing their own material during the heyday of progressive rock, they never gained any traction outside a few local gigs. Life intervened but, four decades later, Chris and Steve got back together and decided to write and record an album.

With home production technology they gradually assembled the material using virtual and real instruments. The next step was to find some good vocalists to sing the lyrics and complete the project. Through family and friends, contact was made with Jac Kingsbury, Matt Burgess and James Gerard who kindly agreed to take part.

Through the Window, the album…

Steve wrote all the lyrics on the album and Chris did the sleeve artwork and design. The first six songs loosely follow a theme that relates to the conflict between the real world and the online world seen through screens (Through the Window) and the wider ramifications of that conflict.

Mad Dan? Where did the band name come from? Now that would be telling…
