SHED
Flowing out of some misty East Anglian estuary, Shed are a Colchester-based collective fusing indie rock, punk spirit, and folk storytelling into a fast-paced, heart-on-sleeve whirlwind of sound. Their music is a rollercoaster of raw emotion and sharp humour - where fish and chips, anxiety, lazy susans, and mending pottery all have equal weight in the lyrical spotlight.
With storytelling at the core and chaos at the edges, Shed’s songs dive headfirst into the beautiful dysfunction of everyday life, spinning tales that are as relatable as they are unpredictable. Whimsical, thought-provoking, and proudly rough around the edges - Shed is less a band, more a glorious mess you’ll want to be part of.
OI MATE!
Made up from the jaded remnants of several failed local bands, Oi MATE!'s take on life, the media and politics is tongue-in-cheek at best. Described as Wonk-Punk curators of throwaway British culture since at least the middle of last week - expect some surprising twists and turns delivered with a unique wonk-punk wink and a cheeky swagger.
BASALT
Basalt is the collaboration between sound artist Frazer Merrick and drummer Ben Hunt, creating breakbeat electronica. 90s-inspired beats are accompanied by DIY synths and processed field recordings. A sound that is both rough and polished at the same time.
