Bassistry is a dynamic vocal-led Nu Jazz band, that Blues & Soul Magazine’s, 5-star review, described as “ a mix of funk grooves with Latin Rhythms and pulsating electronic, and beautiful contemporary soundscapes.’
Bassistry’s music is recognized for crossing genres. The band features some of London’s finest musicians, who have toured and recorded with artists as diverse as Paloma Faith, Craig David, Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam) Plan B, Tom Jones and Grace Jones.
“Jamiroquai-influenced funk” ‘slight Massive Attack territory’, the vibes of the Brand New Heavies, Incognito and all sorts” ‘Amy Winehouse feel’ are all magazine quotes used to pinpoint Bassistry’s music.
Bassistry will play tracks from albums, Short Stories, What The Hell Do You Call This? And In Time produced with Ivor Award Winning producer Cassell the Beatmaker, as well as, In Time and EP Try This.
The albums combines Soul, African, Jazz, Reggae, funk and electronica. The songs tell different stories about the human condition, and reflecting on the sign of the times.
Bassistry are a superb live experience that will take you through a wide range of emotions.
